What started as a small student project mushroomed into the clandestine, Special Assignment of a lifetime. The full-scale Space Shuttle Crew Compartment Trainer, built for the NASA Fire Rescue Department KSC, was the size of the front of a 747 and was sent against the railroads orders.

What takes NASA dozens of employees, 2 years and 1-2 million tax dollars, had to be done alone, NO funding and on the wrong side of the continent. Sent against the railroad's orders Resolution! on the rail-car in California. The journey to Florida took three months as a high-wide load, routed as special rail traffic.
As one Shuttle launched, another entered The CAPE. The Resolution! was the only other Shuttle to be amongst The Fleet.
Chuck started working for NASA at 18 and has served on 8 Programs at 3 NASA Centers. He studied Astronautical Engineering at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, CA. He's a pilot, published research scientist and writer.
